Description
In some areas, water losses reach 50% due to outdated infrastructure and inefficient management, while water demand continues to grow. Despite advances in digitalization, water management solutions remain fragmented, and the potential for data-driven optimization remains largely untapped. WATERDEAL addresses this by developing smart water grids capable of detecting leaks in real time and adapting distribution to actual demand.
Objectives
- Develop Smart Water Grids (SWG) based on IoT, AI analytics, and cloud-edge computing
- Introduce effective strategies for real-time leak detection and predictive maintenance
- Enable on-demand water distribution, reducing energy consumption
- Foster knowledge exchange through secondments and staff exchanges within an international consortium
