Description

Modern olive cultivation, especially in high-density plantations, requires real-time monitoring of the variables that affect the quality and sustainability of production throughout the entire supply chain, from field to table. MARTOLIVE aims to revolutionize olive production and processing through precision agriculture, making the sector more sustainable and competitive.

Objectives

  • Develop a multi-sensor framework to monitor the water and nutritional status of plants in real time
  • Integrate remote and proximal sensing technologies with AI-based decision support systems (DSS) to optimize irrigation, nutrition, fruit ripeness assessment, and smart pruning
  • Implement a blockchain-based smart traceability system to ensure full transparency from orchard to bottle and build greater consumer trust
  • Validate the solutions through field trials to ensure scalability and real-world applicability
  • Integrate data from tree-mounted sensors, UAV (drone) imagery, and satellite remote sensing into predictive models for efficient resource use and climate resilience
